Celebrating World Refugee Week 2025
Every year, thousands of refugees try to cross the Mediterranean in search of a better life. In 2024 alone, over 2,000 lives were tragically lost during these desperate journeys. To honor their courage and to showcase the potential refugees bring, we have partnered with Epimonia for a collaboration to celebrate the World Refugee Week, as well as the 10 years of anniversary of our network.
We’re proud to introduce our exclusive collection of bracelets and tote bags, crafted from the life vests that once safeguarded refugees on their journeys.
These accessories are produced by Epimonía (US), a refugee-founded fashion label. Epimonia upcycles materials from life jackets that were worn by refugees on the Mediterranean Sea and discarded upon arrival in Greece. By shopping for these products, you’re directly investing in migrant futures, as all profits will be donated to the Startup Refugees Fund that is the only fund in Finland supporting newcomer entrepreneurs.

This year’s World Refugee Week theme, “Community as a Superpower,” highlights the strength found in diversity, inclusivity, and the resilience of the human spirit. This will be an Startup Refugees-style epic evening of music, dance, and togetherness with some surprising Midsummer magic!
