EURES
Startup Refugees helps employers recruit international talent and supports international professionals looking for work in Finland.
Founded in 2015, Startup Refugees is a non-profit organisation and social enterprise supporting refugees, asylum seekers and other immigrants with employment, entrepreneurship and skills development. We work across Finland together with employers, municipalities, organisations and other partners.
Our network includes individuals, communities and companies such as Supercell, Tieto, IKEA, Lidl, Vaisala, Varma, Ekovilla and UBSolar. We have mapped the skills of more than 10,000 immigrants, provided over 2,200 employment opportunities, delivered 14,000 trainings and trained 1,400 future entrepreneurs. Startup Refugees is also a local partner of UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, in supporting refugee employment.
As an EURES partner, Startup Refugees provides free and up-to-date guidance for both international jobseekers and employers recruiting international talent.
For jobseekers, we offer multilingual information about living and working in Finland, job searching and applying for jobs. For employers, we provide guidance on recruiting from EU and EEA countries, support in finding international candidates and assistance after recruitment.
We can support employers with:
- finding international talent in Finland and across Europe
- recruiting from EU and EEA countries
- understanding international recruitment processes
- reaching suitable international candidates
- supporting recruitment and onboarding
- providing information and guidance after recruitment
Through the EURES network, employers can also expand their recruitment beyond Finland and connect with jobseekers across Europe.
